Creative Roots & Branches: 8 summer social artmaking sessions
Wanna be making but can seem to prioritise it? Lost your creative mojo? Make all the time but stuck in a bit of a rut? These sessions have come about in response to conversations about how, why, and when people make – and don’t! Set in an artist studio, in a large mid-Devon garden, alongside the developing outdoor space called ‘Creativity Acre,’ these sessions are about getting making, together, using beautiful summer evenings in nature, and each other, as inspiration.
They are intentionally on Monday evenings – to set the tone for the working week, weave the wellbeing benefits through the days, and help inspire creativity in our everyday lives.
Bring your preferred materials and practice, or tap into our immense supplies. Sessions will be facilitated by a professional artist, but these aren’t lessons as such: these are supportive gatherings – a bit like booking the trainer at the gym.
This is a new pilot series, so participants will help shape how it progresses, but we aim for fun, soul-recharging, creative connections that produce art – good, bad, ugly, or wonderful. We will celebrate the process and way of being in our summer Monday evenings- together. Join us!

We plan to operate a waitlist to fill spots not occupied due to – well how life happens for people!
This series is part of the “If Tress Could Talk Devon” Festival. We broadly operate on a not-for-profit basis, but any surplus helps enable people in vulnerable life moments access creative wellbeing support. Donations to support us in this work are also greatly appreciated.
