Monica Shanta
Monica is an artist whose practice encompasses digital film, installation, drawing and performance. She says, “Lived, sensory and physical, experiences are usually the starting points for my work. I engage with universal human experiences; Eating, Breathing, ‘Death’…. as portals to metaphysical and ontological questions.” She works as work as a freelance visual artist, doing many projects in school and community environments, including work with DAISI (Devon Artists in Schools Initiative). She was a particularly valued artistic participant in the craft of Caring mid Devon, sharing deeply personal experiences of unpaid caring.
She holds an MA in Contemporary Art Practice at Plymouth University.
