Catherine is the founder of Significant Seams, and a Director. Her work explores the ecosystems of rural Devon, and the achieving balance between community and individual, especially for vulnerable groups. She incorporates traditional techniques such as hand dyeing and wool spinning into contemporary views of sustainability and environmental and community care.

Catherine is a Youth Mental Health First Aider. 1 in 5 children and young people aged 8 to 25 had a probable mental health condition in 2023 – an increase from 1 in 9 in 2017 In 2024, the number of referrals to mental health services increased to 120,000 a month, compared to around 40,000 a month in 2016
Catherine has had Carer Friendly Training, and was lead artist on the Arts Council England funded Craft of Caring Mid-Devon project. The pandemic increased unpaid carer numbers in Devon from 84,000 to over 130,000. Unpaid carers work is estimated to contribute over £162 BILLION to the economy annually.
Catherine was a researcher on this Erasmus funded project exploring the impact of art in mental health recovery for health workers suffering from burn out AND people in recovery from dual diagnoses of addiction and mental health.
Catherine is a fellow of the RSA, a global community of 30,000 proactive problem solvers committed to inspiring better ways of thinking, acting and delivering change.
Catherine is a fellow of the School for Social Entrepreneurs, a global network of over 3,000 people who have graduated from a programme designed to equip people to transform their communities and improve the lives of others.
