Year in Review

We’ve had a lot of changes this year… new space at 131, lots of new faces, new classes, new events, new connections…

jo stitch and craft library

Our constantly expanding Stitch & Craft Library is close to being fully catalogued…

We had the coolest community-created window display on Wood Street…

We hosted our first (and quite successful!) MacMillan coffee morning

We all celebrated together the opening of the new space at 131

We welcomed lots of new volunteers (and we look forward to welcoming more in 2014!)…

IMG_1739And our commitment to community-based craftivism continued with our collectively made letter pillows and installations and community wishing well, and to wider craftivism through our participation in The Knitathon, helping to create (and then hosting) the I’m a Piece installation, and a photo exhibit on homelessness.

Our ESL classes have been so popular that we’re hoping to add another weekly session in the new year. Our collaboration with the Limes’ Young Custodians produced our third annual community quilt, and we received a grant to introduce a drawing class for parents of tykes up to age 2 to our “Making Mamas” programme.

Throughout all of this action and change, one thing has remained constant: the support of you, our community. We wouldn’t be anything without you all.

We have several exciting projects in the works for next year that we can’t wait to share with you, and we look forward to another exciting year with you all! Your support, time, and energy make Significant Seams what it is, and will continue to shape our future development.

Thank you so much!  Happy New Year! We look forward to seeing you again in 2014!
