Kickstarter Young Artists in Residence/Development Assistants: 3 roles
We are actively recruiting to three posts in conjunction with the national ‘Kickstarter’ Scheme. These are 25 hours per week for six months each. Young people aged 16-24 in receipt of Universal credit are eligible to apply, and must make an application via a referral from their DWP Job Coach. We intend to shape a personalised activity plan for each of three post holders that offers variety and substantive learning, but also develops a mutually desirable range of skills, new business opportunities, and tools for our team. To find out more visit your local job centre and speak to a job coach. It is envisioned that: one role will have an emphasis on young people and community projects, including craftivism, another will focus on health, wellbeing, and a local heritage project, and the third will focus on craft supply sales, including working with our lead designer on a wholesale craft kit project. Depending on the candidates experiences, these foci may change – other potential themes include diversity and inclusion, social media, and mental health.

Participants will have the opportunity to pursue a nationally recognised certification, Arts Award, with supplementary activity with their families/households. Supporting materials and guidance will be provided. A hot meal will be provided each day, along with programme integrated nutrition and budgeting advice. Board of Directors
Significant Seams are entering a period where they seek to engage at least two further Board members. A general role description exists, which we are happy to provide, but a conversation in the first instance is welcomed. Board roles are unremunerated, but board members are eligible to receive payments for discrete pieces of work within their specialities.
On an ongoing basis, we accept speculative applications for craft tutors, project coordinators, and producers for freelance and project work that may arise. As we often receive last minute contracts, we have opportunity to call in freelance support regularly. We welcome your interest in our work. We also encourage you to look at our information on volunteering here.
