The Wood Street Festival Community Preparation

There’s a lot of excitement at Significant Seams right now! We’re getting ready for our grand opening, and our first big public event in the new space: the Wood St. festival! The festival will be on June 15, when a stretch of Wood St. will be shut to cars from 12-5 for an afternoon of fun, music, and (fingers crossed) not too much rain.

A bit of creative mayhem in the community living room during a half term kids workshop this week, while kids worked diligently at the sewing machines!

We are hosting a fairly large part of the festival. A small band of volunteers is working hard to make our part of this fun day spectacular (there will be games! And prizes! And cake!), but we need some help from you!

We’re looking for a few more volunteers to help run stalls on June 15, and to help prepare things beforehand. We will be having prep. sessions at 131 Wood St. on:
Saturday June 2, 10am-5pm
Tuesday, June 4, from 7pm
Saturday, June 9, 10am-5pm
Tuesday, June 11, from 7pm
Friday, June 14, 10am ‘til we’re ready!

Please drop in as you can! No special skills required.

We’re also hoping to get some yummy cakes, biscuits, flapjacks, and other baked goods for our bake sale. These can be dropped off (along with an ingredients list, please) on June 14 or the morning of June 15.

Also, if you have a gazebo, folding table, or chairs that we could borrow for the day, we would be hugely grateful!

For more information about any aspect, or to help, email Lauren at bwefshop@gmail.com.

Thanks very much!
