Tell Your Story (…Or Someone Else’s!)
Writers and apiring writers looking for a new creative outlet or inspiration are in luck this summer.
An exciting new poetry class, Thinking Magically, has just started at Significant Seams. Even—especially—if you feel intimidated by the idea of creative writing, class instructor and poet Emma Hammond will help you put your creative thoughts to paper.
Students are encouraged to bring along any poems they’ve been too nervous to share with the world, for a supportive and fun time.
Thinking Magically is held from 10am-12 on the first Tuesday of every month (next class on August 6!) at Significant Seams (131 Wood Street). You can book a spot online at our website, or just come on by (suggested donation £3).
And poets of all ages are needed to complete a collaborative art project at The Mill. Fifteen animal structures made by local families with the help of sculptor Michelle Reader are looking for voices.
A poetry session will be held at The Mill on Saturday, July 20 from 2-4 pm (suggested donation £2). Poets of all ages are invited to tell these creatures’ stories. All poems will be considered for inclusion in The Mill’s anthology later this year.
