Experimental Textiles for Carers and Creators

Significant Seams is pleased to be launching a new programme in South West England. Devon Community Foundation have generously funded an ‘experimental textile’ group to help refuel carers and professionals who work in the care sector.

The group will meet monthly and is starting with confirmed bookings from 8 people. The programme is being delivered in conjunction with OrganicArts at West Town Farm in Ide, a village just outside of Exeter. A free shuttle bus from Exeter is also on offer.

In this series we will use the rejuvenating powers of making and creating and experiment and connect with like-minded people, generous and creative souls who love a bit of making.

We will use materials brought, supplied, and found. Willow grows on the farm. The sheep provide raw fleeces. The dye garden can even provide colour experiments. We have drop spindles, crochet hooks, knitting needles, We have tapestry frames and embroidery hoops and friendly attitudes!

Booking is essential, but we welcome carers, paid and unpaid from anywhere in Devon.  Feel free to contact us to find out more or to contract a special workshop.
